Kemvera Wins the Audience Award at the Biomanufacturing Shark Tank

This month, Kemvera CEO and Co-Founder Dr. Chern-Hooi Lim pitched at the first Biomanufacturing Shark Tank at Bio Innovations North America. We're excited to share that Kemvera won the Audience Participation Award.
Six finalists each had three minutes to pitch to a panel of industry and investor "sharks," then two minutes to answer questions. Dr. Lim presented Kemvera's approach
to scaling bio-based chemical production: turning American bioethanol into bio-acetic acid and bio-ethyl acetate, which can directly replace fossil-based chemicals in everyday products like paints, footwear and fragrances.
We were proud to share the stage with Craft BioSolutions, Ecovaleric, Låkril Technologies, Oleo and Sustainable Chemicals. Congratulations to Låkril Technologies, the sharks' pick, and to every finalist. As shark Chris Forgey of ADM said afterward, "Your innovations are hugely inspiring and continue to drive the bioeconomy forward."
Thank you to ADM and the NSF RuralSTAMINA Engine program for sponsoring the event. Thank you also to everyone who voted and joined the conversation about the future of biomanufacturing. It means a lot that this award came from the people in the room.
