Building on the
Bio-Ethanol Platform

Harnessing bio-ethanol as an abundant and renewable feedstock to produce sustainable, affordable, drop-in chemicals at global scale.

Kemvera leverages the United States’ bio-ethanol advantage to manufacture high-value, bio-based chemicals and materials to decarbonize traditional supply chains. By repurposing existing bio-ethanol infrastructure, the Midwest can be transformed into a leading hub for sustainable chemical production.

The Bio-Ethanol Advantage

Each year the U.S. produces over 15 billion gallons of bio-ethanol. Kemvera is strategically positioned to transition this abundant, cost-competitive, renewable resource into the foundation of a cleaner chemical economy.

Strategic Advantage

Built on existing Gen 1 bio-ethanol infrastructure, enabling resilient supply and fast, low-risk scale-up.

Brand Value

Enables consumer brands to boost bio-content and sustainability without compromising performance.

Global Alignment

Bio-based materials are widely recognized (e.g., by the IEA) as a key pillar in decarbonizing global supply chains.

Renewable Feedstock

Bio-ethanol offers a scalable, low-carbon platform for next-generation bio-based chemicals and materials.

Bio-Acetic Acid & Bio-Ethyl Acetate

Certified 100% Bio-Based. Carbon-Negative. Drop-In Ready.

Our proprietary thermocatalytic process efficiently converts bio-ethanol into bio-acetic acid and bio-ethyl acetate (flagship products) — delivering products with performance equal to fossil-based counterparts, but without the carbon footprint.

From Pilot to Commercial Scale

Scaling Proven Technology Toward Full Commercial Deployment

Kemvera is scaling its continuous bio-ethanol oxidation reactor to a 20 t/y pilot and advancing toward commercial production through a clear, data-driven scale-up pathway.

2026 (Q4)

  • Continuous operation of a pre-commercial demonstration reactor (500 t/y capacity)

  • Demonstrate continuous fractional distillation meeting purity specifications

  • Complete FEL-3 (FEED) process design package for first commercial facility (50,000 t/y capacity)

2028 (Q2)

  • Commission a commercial plant with a production partner.

Product Pipeline of CO2-Derived Chemical Solutions

Unlocking CO₂ as a Feedstock

Kemvera is developing pipeline technologies that upcycle CO₂ into high-value intermediates and monomers—such as methyl methacrylate—using a unique light-driven photocatalytic process that converts CO₂ into valuable chemical building blocks.
